Getting started
If it's your first time at tattoo removal, or if you're thinking about starting the process, we recommend first booking a time for a consultation/trial treatment. Our consultations are conducted by a laser specialist and we go through the process and make a tailored plan for you, as well as schedule your first treatment. The consultation at our clinic costs € 80 (30min). If you feel knowledgeable about the tattoo removal process and wish to start the first treatment immediately, it's possible if the tattoo is smaller than 10x10 cm. In this case, you do not pay for the consultation, but the price of the treatment is determined according to the price list. Even in these situations, we go through the treatment process, and we make the decision if the treatment can begin immediately. If you have been treated elsewhere before and want to continue with us, a consultation is not necessarily needed; you can simply book a regular treatment session, depending on the size of your tattoo/tattoos. If you're unsure, please contact us beforehand.
Services
With 20 years of experience in laser treatments and tattoo fading, along with thousands of removals, we help you here at ELIR in a professional and safe way to remove your tattoo or just lighten it if you're planning a new cover-up.
Tattoo removal
Before the treatment:
-
We recommend a numbing cream that you can find at the pharmacy. Apply a thick layer on the tattoo about 2 hours before your visit and cover the area with plastic wrap and tape.
-
Remove makeup from the area. If you have used self-tanner on the area, we recommend that you wait 2 weeks before the treatment. The same applies if you have had a chemical peel, microneedle treatment, or injections in the area.
-
If the area is very hairy, we recommend that you shave it the evening before.
-
If you feel nervous about the treatment and want to bring a friend with you, that is fine.

During the treatment:
-
We start by taking a photo of the tattoo, which we then follow up on during the series of treatments. If it is your first time, we go through the whole process, and you get answers to your questions. If you have been treated before, we discuss how the reaction has been after previous treatments. Depending on the amount, depth, and quality of the color, as well as the tattoo's placement and skin sensitivity, the laser therapist determines the strengths used during the treatment.
-
During a test treatment, a small area of the tattoo is targeted so we can see how the ink and your skin react.

After the treatment:
-
Since the area may feel warm after treatment, we apply a soothing, cooling cream to the area. You can also cool the area later if needed. Since your skin surface is intact, you can calmly continue your day after the treatment, but we recommend monitoring how you feel, as some may feel a bit tired, and the treated area may feel warm and sore during the day.
-
We also recommend using an aftercare cream for about 2 weeks.
-
You will receive aftercare information and are welcome to contact us afterward if questions arise.
Eyebrows
In the same way that we treat tattoos on the body, we can also lighten eyebrows.
With us:
-
We remove all colors, including red.
-
You do not need to shave your eyebrows beforehand, and the treatment does not affect hair growth.
-
You can get a new tattoo/pigmentation afterward. If you have been treated elsewhere before, we recommend a consultation with us before treatment.

We do not treat tattooed eyeliner on eyelids due to the risks involved.
Cover up:
If you are considering a cover-up on your tattoo or tattoo removal, we are happy to help you to consider the possibilities. Often a cover-up is better if the old tattoo is slightly lightened first, and it does not require many laser treatments. The tattoo artist also gets a better surface to work on. After a treatment with us, you can have a picture tattooed on after about 2 months. We can also lighten parts of the tattoo if you want to continue working with the tattoo you have. Feel free to book a time for consultation so we can discuss further.
IPL:
Permanent hair removal

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Hair Removal is the fastest and most effective method for permanently removing unwanted hair. During the treatment, a cooling gel is applied to the skin, which is then illuminated with visible and infrared light. The light reaches down to the hair follicle and heats it up to approximately 70°C, causing the protein in the hair cell to be destroyed. IPL works best on dark hair strands containing pigment. Light or white hair strands
cannot be permanently removed using IPL.
On most areas of the body, 20-30% of hair strands are in the growth phase (except for scalp hair, where 90% are in the growth phase). These hair follicles are targeted and destroyed during hair removal treatments. Typically, 3-6 treatments are needed to achieve hair reduction in a specific area. Treatments can be spaced at least 3 weeks apart.
Before the treatment, the hair should be shaved or trimmed (with strands shorter than 3mm). If the hair has been plucked with tweezers or waxed, it’s advisable to wait 2 weeks before undergoing the treatment to allow the hair to grow back.
After the treatment, the treated area may feel slightly warm, but this sensation usually subsides within a few hours. Avoid saunas and sunbathing for 2-3 days after the treatment.

Skin rejuvenation

IPL Skin Rejuvenation is a safe and gentle treatment that involves light impulses penetrating the skin without damaging the surface layer. The transmitted light stimulates the underlying skin to react as if healing a wound, promoting the creation of collagen and elastin fibers. This process restores the cells within the dermis and epidermis, resulting in a plumping effect by strengthening and smoothing the skin from the inside out. As a result, your skin becomes firmer, softer, and more even-toned. For optimal results, a series of approximately 3-6 treatments is recommended, spaced 3-6 weeks apart.

Acne treatment

Unlike traditional laser procedures that use a single light wavelength, IPL releases a set of different pulsed light wavelengths, similar to a camera flash. These scattered intense pulsed light pulses can penetrate deeper layers of the skin without damaging the top layer. The IPL device emits quick pulses of intense light into the targeted area. When these pulses touch the skin, the energy is absorbed by pigment cells and converts into heat. This heat beneath the skin’s surface can:

-
Destroy acne-causing bacteria.
-
Improve acne scars.
-
Address other skin concerns like age spots and rosacea.

Benefits of IPL for Acne:

-
Targeted Treatment: IPL can specifically address acne-related issues without affecting the surrounding healthy skin.
-
Deep Penetration: The wavelengths penetrate deep into the skin, making it effective for treating cystic acne.
-
Minimal Downtime: IPL treatments typically require little to no downtime.
-
Versatility: Besides acne, IPL can also treat other skin conditions.

Vessel removal

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment for superficial blood vessels aims to reduce unnecessary redness caused by these vessels without damaging the skin. Superficial blood vessels serve no specific function and are a result of weakened walls in the underlying vessels. When a vessel ruptures, smaller excess vessels become visible on the skin’s surface.
During an IPL treatment for superficial blood vessels, light is converted into heat, which destroys the protein in the vessel wall, causing the blood to coagulate. The skin can then easily break down the vessel and remove it. Small superficial blood vessels disappear immediately, while larger ones may require several additional treatments to completely vanish. A typical treatment session lasts approximately 15-60 minutes. Redness may occur in the skin after the treatment and can persist for 1-2 days.
IPL treatment is effective for all types of blood vessels, including those associated with rosacea. The treatment is always customized to your individual preferences and needs, and we always conduct a consultation before the first session
